Biography

Lei was born in Singapore. She was a child, when her family moved to the United States. Before settling in Las Vegas, Nevada, they lived in states such as Massachusetts, Virginia, and Ohio. At 18, she start her exotic dancing career. While working in a Las Vegas dance club, she became intrigued by adult films.

After moving to Los Angeles, California, she immediately began her career in hardcore pornographic films in September 2002. Although she was pursued by other adult film companies, including Vivid Entertainment, Lei became a “Wicked Girl” contract performer for Wicked Pictures in 2003. One of Wicked’s performers did not show up for a film shoot and Lei took that actress’ role; this performance impressed the company’s executives into offering her a contract. As a Wicked Girl, she is said to have worked under the tutelage of Wicked Pictures contract director Michael Raven.

With performances in such diverse Wicked titles as Raven’s high-tech fantasy epic Angel X and Jonathan Morgan’s Wicked Auditions 2, Kaylani began receiving acclaim from both fans and critics alike.

Impressed with both Kaylani’s acting skills and sexual energy on camera, Wicked Pictures Owner and President Steve Orenstein signed the exotic performer to an exclusive contract with the company. She has since created a body of work that culminated with 2004 AVN nominations for Best Actress and Best New Starlet. Recent Kaylani titles have included Stormy’s feature-directing debut, One Night In Vegas, David Stanley’s Harlequin and Brad Armstrong’s action-adventure epic The Curse Eternal.

Since joining the Wicked family, Kaylani has worked in some of the studio’s most ambitious projects, including the couples’ oriented Julia Ann vehicles Beautiful and The Assignment, and Jonathan Morgan’s epic science fiction parody Space Nuts. Late 2003 saw the release of the first film of her Wicked contract, Michael Raven’s Blue Rain, an erotic police drama that received press coverage in both AVN and on MTV’s The New Tom Green Show.

Late fall 2004, saw the Armstrong psychological thriller Eye of the Beholder, starring Kaylani garnering a multitude of noms from AVN including Best Video feature, Best DVD, Best Editing and Best Special Effects. A frequent studio guest on both Playboy TV and mainstream radio, Kaylani also previously hosted her own KSEXRadio.Com talk show, Me So Horny With Kaylani Lei. Kaylani also had a prominent role in megastar rapper 50 Cent’s interactive DVD Groupie Love, which had revered success at the 2005 AVN awards winning best interactive DVD and Best Music.

On the business front, Lei inked a deal with California Exotic Novelties for her own line of Wicked Essensual Elements erotic toys.

When not shooting for Wicked, Kaylani enjoys going to the movies and shopping especially for clothes (she admits a weakness for anything made in soft pink, her favorite color). She’s also closely involved in the day-to-day operation of her website, ClubKaylaniLei.com

Outside of her adult film work, she used to host a radio show on KSEX, Me So Horny With Keylani Lei. Lei has returned to hosting the show as of April 2007 now with co-host Kitty Langdon, succeeding Mika Tan who was hosting the show after Lei left initially. Lei has made an appearance on the Howard Stern radio show while he was on national broadcast radio (pre-Sirius satellite radio change over), and makes appearances on Playboy TV. In 2007 she was the co star of the Cinemax series The Erotic Traveler, as Allison Kraft, apprentice erotic photographer.

After meeting in December 2005, Lei began dating Byron Kelleher, a New Zealand rugby union halfback. However in June 2006, The Sunday News reported that the two had split up. Currently she lives in New Zealand.
